Green vs. Green: The Sustainability Debate

Recently, I moderated a panel at the UN Social Innovation Summit with Coca-Cola, Verizon and Intel. Here is the conversation that took place.
Have added this video to EarthSayers.tv in the special collection, Innovation and Sustainability at bit.ly/earthsayerhollender.
Three things came to mind as I listened to the panelists. I assume you want to hear from the chorus out here since you didn’t post any comment along with the video, careful not to drive any conclusions.
First, about the medium. Storytelling is key to raising awareness and consciousness and I want to hear directly from the business leaders so I’m glad more conferences are being videotaped especially as sustainability has spawned what I call the Age of Reports of Reports. When a person starts with the blah, blah, blah it’s so much more impactful, but with unintended consequences, as in not to be believed.
My other take-away from watching the video was about how often climate change came up. Well, what about weather. It’s an essential element of pricing and availability, increasingly in a big, big way. Have your internal Mac drive go South and what you hear about is the floods in Thailand. I could go on, but…
So, that’s my two cents. Choirmember and advocate, Ruth Ann
